- Cheapest phone that still gets updates: iPhone SE 2, but it has only about 1–2 years left.
- Cheapest USB-C iPhone: a refurbished iPhone 15 at about €400.
- Cheapest new: an iPhone 16e at about €550.
- iOS 27 (Sept 2026) kept the same device list as iOS 26: iPhone 11, SE 2 and newer.
- Apple doesn’t publish end dates. The update columns are estimates from Apple’s past support: about 6–8 years of new iOS versions, then 1–2 more years of security fixes.
- An EU rule from June 2025 requires at least 5 years of updates after a model stops being sold. It covers newer models like the 17e, not the older phones.
- On eBay, buy from commercial sellers: private sellers don’t owe the 2-year legal warranty (Gewährleistung).
